Depends on how far your test date is, but usually once every weekend is a good suggestion if its a couple months away. Roughly every week or two is best. More often, and you don't have time to learn something new between tests. Less often, and your study becomes too distant from the actual test.

So it's likely youre retake won't improve your score (sorry just fax here). If there's no downside to scoring worse and you feel up for the additional effort, go for it. In reality there's not much difference between a 1600 and a 1550 and most colleges know that. More schools than I realized look at all tests.
