These two Chamberings are similar in usage. however the Lapua beats out the norma velocity wise. With a 30 inch barrel in both, my findings show a 230gr in a norma improved thrown at about 3075-3150 fps compared the the lapua imp at 3200-3250. The 300 PRC offers a higher BC as compared to the .338 Lapua, making it a better choice for longer range shots. The higher BC bullets will give you better downrange accuracy and lower wind drift.
