I use a steel surplus mag as a templet as I file the tight areas. Poly mags do fit tight, do not use as a templet! Surplus mags are not supposed to fit like OJs glove, they need a little room, not much. Touch up with cold blue when your done.In for the answer. If i remember correctly the 10/63's were made out of surplus parts, whereas the 10's are new production parts. I bought a WASR10 about 8 or 9 years ago. It was about $150 cheaper than the SAR1. You used to be able to get the SAR 1,2 and 3 at any gun store..
